# Delete my account

> How to request the permanent deletion of your account, the deadlines and what is erased or kept (LGPD).

You can delete your account at any time in **My account → Security → Delete my account**. It is the right to erasure under the Brazilian LGPD (art. 18, VI).

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Request the deletion">
    Confirm your password (and your 2FA code, if enabled). We e-mail a confirmation link to the account address. **Nothing changes in the account until you confirm.**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm by e-mail within 24 hours">
    The link is valid for 24 hours and works once. Opening it is not enough: the deletion is only confirmed when you click **Confirm deletion**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Inactive for 7 days">
    From the confirmation on, you are signed out everywhere and stop receiving incidents and on-call notifications. You get an e-mail with the exact date and time of the deletion.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Permanent deletion">
    After the 7 days, the deletion runs automatically and **cannot be undone**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Changed my mind

During the 7 days, sign in with your e-mail and password as usual. Instead of the dashboard, aciona.me shows **Deletion scheduled** with a **Cancel deletion** button. Cancelling makes the account active again, with everything as it was.

## What is erased

Profile, e-mail, phone, password, 2FA settings and recovery codes, sessions, devices and push, preferences, avatar and your membership in organizations, teams and schedules. Afterwards your e-mail is free for a new sign-up, which has no link to the old account.

## What is kept

* **Organization history.** Incidents, timelines and schedules belong to the organizations you were part of. They stay there, showing **Deleted user** instead of your name.
* **A minimal record of the request.** Protocol, dates and decision, with no personal data, for up to 12 months, to prove the request was handled.
* **Backups.** They expire in the normal backup cycle and are never restored without re-applying the deletion.

## If you are the only owner of an organization

Being the only owner **does not block** the deletion: the organization is deleted together with your account. If it has child organizations, they are included too.

* The screen lists the affected organizations and asks you to **type the name of each one** to confirm.
* Once you confirm by email, those organizations are **suspended** for the 7 days: members lose access, webhooks are no longer accepted and no new incident is opened. Members get an email with the scheduled deletion date; there is no automatic data export.
* If you **cancel the deletion**, the organizations become active again and members are notified.
* After the 7 days, the organization and all its content (sources, services, teams, schedules, incidents, alerts and integrations) are deleted. The recurring subscription is cancelled, with no prorated refund. The minimal tax records required are kept segregated and encrypted.

<Tip>
  Want the organization to keep running? Before requesting the deletion, promote another member to owner in [Members](/en/organizations/members).
</Tip>

<Note>
  Cancelling the deletion reactivates the organizations, but does **not** recreate the cancelled subscription: the plan stays valid until the end of the period already paid.
</Note>

## When the deletion cannot proceed

<Warning>
  The deletion is blocked while any of these is true, and the screen shows what to resolve:

  * an **open incident is assigned to you** — resolve or reassign it;
  * you are **on call in the next 24 hours** — arrange an [override](/en/on-call/overrides).
</Warning>
